Deacon Samuel and Billy Bean

Billy Bean was Dean's Cabbage Patch Kid when he was little. Kelli Mom brought him for Deacon this last weekend. As you can see, they bear a stunning resemblance with their dimples and cute little noses. Deacon's lips are somewhat poutier though. :)Deacon was in such a good mood I had to get some of him by himself, too!

Our Weekend

We had a very eventful weekend. On Friday night, Dean and Lola slept in their sleeping bags in the living room and watched movies. They have been doing this a lot lately.

We had breakast for supper..........YUM!

On Saturday, we went to Andrea's to see all of Dean's family. Sir had gotten Lola this fashion show runway tent thingy, with lots of dress up clothes and accessories to go with it. She modeled for us for quite a while.

Kelli-Mom and Deacon watching Lola play with her new stuff.
Sir in awe of how chubby Deacon is since last time he saw him.
Saturday night, I went to work and Dean, Lola, Sir and Kyle went to a Renegades game. Deacon stayed with Kelli Mom, Andrea, and his great-grandparents and got spoiled.
Sunday, we went to church, had lunch with the whole family, and Lola stayed the night with her grandparents. Dean and I watched movies and hung out with Deacon. He loves his bath, as you can see below. (And his Mom and Dad talking sweet to him and taking his picture!)
Sunday we were surprised to see my Dad and Michelle at church. They had been in Midland for a friend's birthday party, so they drove up Sunday morning and surprised us. It was great because I thought my Dad wouldn't get to see Deacon again until August or so.

Getting this shot took many, many outtakes!
That's all for now.

This week

I tried to pose Deacon for pictures like I used to do all the time with Lola. It didn't work as well, but these turned out pretty cute.

We have started putting him in his Bumbo seat a lot. He likes to be able to see what is going on. He can hold his head up pretty well in it, when he gets tired he lays his head back. It's cute. Last night he was sitting in it on the coffee table while Dean and I cleaned the living room. Out of nowhere he busted out laughing. It sounded like a little chuckle. It was hilarious!

Dean took this of Deacon while we were at the park last week. I think it is the most perfect little picture.

Dean plays on the playground!

Lola had a GREAT time, she didn't want to leave, but it was over 100 degrees and the wind was blowing like 100 miles per hour. (Or it felt like that anyways.)

Deacon's first faceful of west texas dirt.

Sweet girl playing hard at the park.

Last week my sister was here with her youth group for church camp and she stayed at our house. Lola got to sleep with her every night! Then Saturday night my mom and Rich came on their way back to Dallas from Midland. My mom stayed with the kids while I went to work, and Dean went to the movies with Rich and Steve. This coming weekend, Dean's parents are coming to town.
That's all that's going on right now.
Until next time,
Jessica

Our Flowers

Our Zinnias have sprouted!
We are trying really hard to remember to water them everyday and take care of them. Check back often for updated photos of them!

Ballet Class

This was Lola last week, right before her very first ballet class. Doesn't she look cute? Little did I know that she would cry, scream, and refuse to participate when we got there.
We had to leave the class early because she wouldn't calm down!

Anyways, yesterday we went back and she did great! It probably has something to do with the fact that we bribed her with going to Chuck E Cheese if she goes to all of her classes without crying, but none the less, she participated.

Deacon is Happy!

Deacon has been so happy in the mornings - probably because he has been sleeping SEVEN hours at night, only waking up once to eat, and going right back to sleep! Hooray for Deacon! Hooray for me sleeping!

This is his signature double-chinned stare.

Look at those dimples!

More dimples.......

He is the sweetest, best baby. I'm so glad I have him.

Conversations with Lola - Part One: The Waterfall

Scene: I see Lola running into her bathroom with my step-stool and a lid to a storage tub.

Jessica: "Lola, come here please!"
(Lola runs into the kitchen)
"What are you doing with that lid?"

Lola: "Nothing." (this answer always means trouble.)

Jessica: "Go put the lid back in your bedroom and come help me with the potatoes."

Lola: "Okay Mommy."
(runs out of the kitchen.)

2 minutes pass by.
Lola appears in the kitchen.

Lola: "Mommy, come see what I made!"

Jessica: "Ok, what is it?"

Lola: "It's a WATERFALL!!!!!!"

(we walk to the bathroom)
(see pictures below)

Please look at these pictures carefully! I have no idea how her little 3 year old mind came up with this! The water was dripping just enough out of the faucet to make it an actual waterfall! You can see below, it was dripping from the lid, onto the counter, into each drawer and onto the floor.

Jessica: "Dean, you have to come look at this."
Dean: (looking at me like I'm insane) "What???"
Jessica: "Just come see it before I have to get onto her for it."
(Dean walks to the bathroom, sees it, tries to keep from laughing.)
Jessica: "Lola, you are very smart to have made that waterfall. But the whole bathroom is wet now and that is a mess. We can't make messes."
Lola: "Okay!"

Deacon turns 2 Months, and Smiles!

Deacon started smiling about a week ago, but it wasn't very often until the last 2 days, so I was finally able to catch it on camera.

Yesterday he was 2 months old! Tomorrow he has his 2 month check-up. I am guessing he will weigh close to 14 pounds. He can still wear some of his 0-3 month clothes, but is into some of his 3-6 month outfits too. He is a happy baby!

Us together after church. Dean was taking the picture. (obviously.)

These church outfits were compliments of Aunt Greta! Deacon's has a little scooter on it, so it is Dean's favorite outfit. It is funny to dress him in shirts that have collars because he has no neck.
Thanks for the outfits Aunt Greta!
P.S. - If you buy my kids a church outfit, I will take their picture in it, have it printed for you, and give you props on the blog. Haha! Just kidding - but that seems to be the theme of the last 2 posts. :)

Memorial Day Weekend

The kids got these outfits from our sweet friend Terri, who threw us a baby shower in February. Don't they look cute?

Last Sunday our small group ladies hosted a diaper pounding for us at church. It was great, we have diapers to last us for months and months.

On Memorial Day, Lola went swimming outside, Dean worked in the yard, and I took a nap and went to work.
Deacon was happy just to hang around the house in his diaper. :)
