New Pics

In April our friend Shauna, of K&S Photography in Dallas was in town for a bridal session, and was nice enough to do some pictures for us. They turned out great!

I love how cute Lola's freckles look here.

Are they dancing or running???

This was the same weekend as the "haircut incident" - so her hair is still long in a few of these.

I love these montages!

Shauna just started doing photography full-time. Her link is in the right hand column. If you like her work, give her a call!

Action Figures

My kids played with action figures yesterday. "So what?" you say, "a lot of kids play with action figures."

Dean brought a box of his old action figures and it was left in the car. We had to stop by his work for a few minutes, and the kids were super-restless in the backseat. Fussing, hollerin' and making all kinds of noise! He handed each of them an action figure and they were quiet for 20 minutes in the car, until we reached our next stop.
Those of you who watched Dean, Andrea and Kyle grow up will not find this surprising because apparantly this was one of their favorite pasttimes. However, the only time I was ever entertained by an action figure was when my brother had his GI Joes suspended with a rope on our Christmas tree. And, my kids are never quiet in the car unless they are sleeping.

I have a lot of other things to blog about, but I can't find my camera at the moment. It is lost somewhere in the aftermath of the tornado that blew through our house recently.

I have nothing good to say today. Here's a picture of my kids in the bathtub. I stood on the toilet to take this so my camera wouldn't get ruined. They were having a "splash party."

Want to see something gross?

Deacon after finishing his very first bean burrito.

Mr. Cutie hanging out in the kitchen cabinets.
We are in the throws of some pretty challenging behavior-the worst yet. Harder than the "I'm a new 3-year-old with a new baby brother" stage. This little girl has a mouth on her and boy can she talk back! I'm tired, Dean is tired. Deacon is probably tired too.
This week is the last week of preschool-Hooray! That means I don't have to show myself in all my hideousness twice a week to all the stay-at-home-luxury-suv-driving-early-morning-makeup-wearing-moms that are there to drop their kids off. Thursday night is Lola's program, and then it's the official start of summer! Swimming lessons, going on trips, etc........a nice change of pace. Have a good day, faithful readers.

I Dont Want To!

First of all, Happy Mother's Day everyone! I am blessed to be a mom today to my sweet kiddos!
All day, and for the past few days, I have had the biggest case of the "I don't want to's." Here's how my thoughts went earlier this evening, just as an example. "I-don't-want-to-go-home-bathe-kids-listen-to-anymore-whining-crying-screaming-fussing-or-get-kids-in-bed-i-just-want-to-lay-down-and-watch-desperate-housewives-in-a-clean-house-oh-no-wait-my-house-is-a-pigsty-and-smells-like-dirty-dishes-and-old-trash-i-dont-want-to-do-the-dishes-AGAIN-i-don't-want-to-go-to-the-gym-and-do-my-cardio-but-i-have-to-so-i-won't-be-fat-anymore-ooooooooohhhhhhhhhh-i-need-a-vacation!!!!!!
Help me. Because I don't want to! And I really, really do need a vacation.

The Circus

April 22nd was Dean's birthday. We ended up with tickets to the circus that night. I don't remember having been to the circus before, and it was pretty fun. We made butterscotch cakeballs for his birthday.

Lola enjoyed the circus the most probably.
This was the little weenie dog tribe that did so many cool tricks-I took this picture for you guys, Leslie and Aunt Greta! Some weenie dog love!
The elephants were my favorite part. I was in awe.

Deacon spent the entire first 30 minutes fussing because we couldn't let him get down and walk around. (We were in the very top last row at the coliseum.) After Dean went and got snacks, he calmed down. And, yes, he ate popcorn. Quite well actually. Try to eat something in front of that kid and then tell me not to give him popcorn! Also, he has eleven teeth.

Me and my sweet punkin at the circus!
So.....there's a lot more I could blog about tonight but kids are in bed and I REALLY want to catch up on my shows.
G'night!

Friday Humor

If you frequent your Lubbock, TX Wal-Mart Supercenter, and you happened to be there last night and stumble upon a small family that includes the little girl pictured below, who was wearing a gymnastics medal, had dirt under her fingernails, and had covered the entirety of her left leg in green marker, make no mistake. It was us.

But we're not white trash. We just pretend to be.
Happy Friday!
